Recap: Passengers urged not to travel as national rail strike affects journeys again

Train operators that run trains through York and Hull are advising passengers to only travel if necessary as train strikes hit on Wednesday (July 27) and Saturday (July 30).

After the previous national strike last month, the RMT union are continuing their industrial action on Wednesday with York-based operator LNER urging passengers to plan ahead and only travel by train if neccessary.

Train services are to be limited and will only run between 7:30am and 6:30pm due to Network Rail walk outs.

On Saturday (July 30), ASLEF will also be striking across seven train operators which will significantly disrupt some routes.

Passengers are advised to check before they travel.
